Yamaha Motor Robotics Factory Automation section has held its 2022 annual distributor meeting online. The digital format enabled the European agents to connect live with Yamaha’s branch office in Germany and Yamaha Motor Corporation headquarters in Japan.

Reviewing the network’s performance in 2021, Yasushi Miyake, Branch Manager of Yamaha Motor Europe IM business, said, “We worked together to deliver imaginative solutions and achieved excellent results in return. By strengthening support and continuing to build our presence in the marketplace, we look forward to further growth in the year ahead.”

Among fresh initiatives revealed during the meeting, a new online portal for agents accelerates solution integration and customer support by easing access to parts and setup information. In addition, the main Yamaha industrial robots website provides extra help to configure, program, and operate the robots, and add capabilities such as tracking.

Live-streaming demonstrations from Japan gave agents the inside track on the latest technical advancements, including single-axis, SCARA, and LCMR200 robots in a battery-assembly simulation. The LCMR200 series of transport modules now includes a horizontal circulation unit to boost throughput and flexibility when using multiple lanes. This unit lets the LCMR200 sliders move easily between lanes for efficient, non-stop operation and allows maintaining sliders on the fly.

Capping the event, the customary Yamaha Distributor Awards presentations recognized the top performers from 2021. Atti srl, Yamaha’s agent based in Milan, Italy, received the Most Valuable Distributor Award. Robot Plus S.L, of Madrid, Spain, received the year’s Best Service Provider award. And Renex, which serves Poland, Austria, the Balkans, and Romania, received the Special Achievement Award acknowledging their continued rapid growth in their customer base and training commitments.

“The commitment from all our agents has been extremely strong this year,” said Jumpei Ninomiya, Sales Manager for Yamaha’s FA business. “The award-winning margins were extremely close and I want to thank everyone for their hard work and encourage us all to continue making our businesses stronger.”
